Annual Meeting of IC MEMO

The annual meeting of the International Committee of Memorial Museums in Remembrance of the Victims of Public Crimes is taking place in Milano, Italy, from July 3rd to July 9th, 2016 and Philip Peterson will hold a lecture about the new permanent exhibition at the Buchenwald memorial on July, 6th. 

GRIMMWELT Wins the German Brand Award '16

The German Brand Award is an important prize honoring successful brand management efforts in Germany. Its purpose: discovering, presenting and featuring pioneering brands and the people behind them. The GRIMMWELT in Kassel was now awarded the prize for its industry excellence in branding in the category „culture & non-governmental organization“.

The International Committee of Memorial Museums in Remembrance of the Victims of Public Crimes was founded at the ICOM general meeting in 2001. Its objective is to foster a responsible memory of history and to further cultural cooperation through education and through using knowledge in the interests of peace. The annual meeting is taking place in Milano, Italy, from July 3rd to July 9th, 2016 and Philip Peterson will hold a lecture about the new permanent exhibition at the Buchenwald memorial.

Planet B - Semester Presentation

Megatrends that are already emerging today will alter the cultural practices related to housing. Architecture will have to adapt itself to evolving needs, values and priorities. The decentralisation of life in the course of increasing mobility, cooperative living ("sharing economy"), the flexibilisation of living space (adaptable zones), new and intelligent technologies and nature ("green"), as a part of architecture, constitute new parameters for the development of buildings and cities. Can we derive ideas for future housing design from these trends that are already discernible?

Planet B - 100 Ideas for a New World

The international group exhibition "Planet B - 100 Ideas for a New World" engages with the radical changes of our planet - and looks for a plan B for the future everyone is dreaming of. The NRW Forum in cooperation with partners such as the Peter Behrens School of Arts presents a selection of artists, designers, architects, scientists and entrepreneurs present their utopias for the 22nd century.

On the 8th July 2016, the semester presentation of the students of PBSA takes place within the program of Planet B, titled "In Search of Tomorrow's (Housing Design) Culture".

Exhibition Building Worlds

Opening of the exhibition "Building Worlds - Models for Designing, Collecting, Reflecting" at the Museum für Gestaltung, Zurich on July 15th, 2016. Open Vernissage on July 14th, 2016 at 7 PM.  

The new exhibition at the Museum für Gestaltung is inviting the public to experience the multi-facetted world of analogue and digital models in design, science and culture. Visitors also have the chance to try their skills and learn from professional model-makers in a variety of workshops.

1st Place Masterplan Sartorius

The jury reached a decision: the masterplan by Holzer Kobler Architekturen for the two hectare large area in Göttingen, Germany, was chosen for implementation.

Modern and historical architecture, urban squares and a mixed-use of residential, educational and retail buildings will form a new inner-city district replacing the current company location of Sartorius. Construction is set to begin in 2017.

Company Museum MANN + HUMMEL

On July 1st, 2016 the company museum of MANN + HUMMEL in Ludwigsburg, Germany, will open its doors in a festive ceremony. The long-established company has been known for quality, service and innovation for more than 75 years. These aspects have been adapted into the exhibition concept and been worked into creative, innovative elements which can be experienced by the visitors. The museum is open to the public only after prior registration.
