The Deutscher Museumsbund (German Museum Association) celebrates its 100th anniversary. Members meet for the annual convention and discuss current developments such as digitalization. Tristan Kobler contributes by giving a speech about his understanding of new exhibition formats.
The shell is built; at the Basel hospital project, the topping-out was celebrated.
In time for the anniversary in 2020, a new permanent exhibition at the house of Beethoven’s birth in Bonn is developed. Life and work of the the outstanding composer and musician will be presented in a new design. At the same time, space for visitor activities and service areas are expanded.
As a contribution to a lecture series about museums of art, curated by editor Roderick Hönig, Tristan Kobler will speak about the presentation of exhibits (in German).

The Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte (Museum for Hamburg History) presents a special exhibition that shows views of the city. As if going for a visual walk, the visitor strolls through the city center and discovers rarely shown artistic representations of the Hanseatic city dating from 1850 to 1913.
