Professor Barbara Holzer taught together with Professor Tanja Kullack the design studio "Travel to a new dimension" at the Peter Behrens School of Arts. The course ended on July 15, 2019.
In November, the Prize for The Best Family Home 2020 and The Special Prize Energy will be awarded. Barbara Holzer will preside over the jury, which she will attend together with Patrick Schmid (Architect Schmid Schärer Architekten), Dominic Meister (Architect, designer Dost Architektur), Marc Briefer (Interior designer) and Anita Simeon Lutz (Architect and editor-in-chief of Das Ideale Heim). The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at 5:00 pm at the Swissbau in Basel.

Der für Besucher wohl wichtigste Schritt ist getan: Das Beethovenhaus ist wieder geöffnet. Ab sofort ist die völlig neu gestaltete Dauerausstellung als Hauptattraktion des Hauses für Besucher täglich zugänglich. Und, das sei vorweggenommen: Der Besuch lohnt sich. Gemeinsam mit Ausstellungsprofis und Innenarchitekten entworfen, zeigt sich die Ausstellung von einer ganz neuen, beeindruckenden Seite. Nichts, aber auch gar nichts ist übrig von der doch ein wenig altbackenen und verstaubt wirkenden Inszenierung vergangener Tage.
Mit der Expo.02 verdampfte die Schweizer Architektur. Die Swiss Box weichte auf, überraschte mit lustigen Formen und bunten Farben. Einen Sommer lang stand ‹Schweiz› nicht mehr für Präzision und Zuverlässigkeit, sondern für Sinnlichkeit und Atmosphäre. Im Dreiseenland stieg eine Riesenparty, ein Volksfest, auf dem alle lächelten und immer die Sonne schien. Die Expo war das Woodstock der Schweiz: zu Lebzeiten lustvolle Geld- und Bilderverschwendungsmaschine sowie Planungsdesaster, eine knappe Generation später ein Mythos.

On 17 December 2019 Beethoven's birthplace invites as a prelude of the Beethoven anniversary year in 2020 to an open day and presents "The new Beethoven House": The redesigned, experience-driven permanent exhibition, expanded exhibit spaces, a treasury of original manuscripts, new visitors service center with shop, dressing rooms, café and educational facilities. The official opening will take place on the evening of 16 December.
