1st Prize in the Competition Old Fishing Port Cuxhaven

The suggested urban development of Cuxhaven’s Old Fishing Port (Alter Fischereihafen), which was designed in collaboration with landscape architect Atelier Loidl, has found critical acclaim: The vision of a new port area has won 1st prize. The competition has produced a further winner.

The goal of the urban design is presenting a frame that can flexibly adjust to future changes, but is also sufficiently clear-cut to ensure a specific development of the port area.

1st Prize Beethoven-Haus Bonn

In time for the anniversary in 2020, a new permanent exhibition at the house of Beethoven’s birth in Bonn is developed. Life and work of the the outstanding composer and musician will be presented in a new design. At the same time, space for visitor activities and service areas are expanded.

Station Area Worblaufen: 1st Prize

At capital city Berne’s doorstep, there is a planning area where three development sites are located. The newly designed buildings are projected as simple, compact forms. All buildings have clear access and they enliven the surrounding squares, so that a new, lively and urban neighborhood around the station is created.

Center Courtyard Government Building Rossau

The new office building naturally blends into the existing historical building structure. Their enormous and impressive appearance should still be able to fully unfold surrounding the light and transparent architectural design of the new implementation. Holzer Koller Architekturen reached the third place in collaboration with Werkstatt Grinzing from Vienna.

St. Peter-Ording Esplanade

In St. Peter-Ording, one of the North Sea’s most impressive sand beaches is about to have a new esplanade. The existing vegetation is gently transformed according to the motto „experience fitness and nature“; an impressive games’ house presents the motto’s bold culmination. Hager Partner AG leads the development of the landscape project.

White City in Tel Aviv

The Federal Ministry of Construction is supporting the development of a new centre for the protection of the more than 4000 historical buildings in the White City in Tel Aviv, the largest settlement of buildings erected in Bauhaus Style. Holzer Kobler Architekturen have won the idea competition for the German-Israeli Bauhaus Centre located in the Max-Liebling-House. The White City has been classified as a UNESCO-World Heritage Site since 2003. 

1st Place Masterplan Sartorius

The jury reached a decision: the masterplan by Holzer Kobler Architekturen for the two hectare large area in Göttingen, Germany, was chosen for implementation.

Modern and historical architecture, urban squares and a mixed-use of residential, educational and retail buildings will form a new inner-city district replacing the current company location of Sartorius. Construction is set to begin in 2017.
