Zhong Fang Blue Globe Hotel

The design of Zhong Fang Blue Eco Hotel in the City of Jiande in the Chinese region of Hangzhou leans towards the philosophers Laozi`s definition of nature – “Ziran” – meaning: unpretentious, unforced, the way it is. The proposal of Holzer Kobler Architekturen has won the 1. prize.

The Zhong Fang Blue Eco Hotel combines the power of natural elements and human technology. It will define a place of identity for the City of Jiande. At first glance, the hotel tower merges with the silhouette of the mountains. The ring-shaped tower with its wave-like variations of heights is orientated towards the mountainous landscape of the XianAn riverside. Large green balconies as well as natural day-lightning of all functional areas create a comfortable and sustainable building climate.
