Museum zu Allerheiligen 25+
The Museum zu Allerheiligen MzA, the renowned multi-faceted museum in the city of Schaffhausen, is to be made into a centre that intensifies the cultural identity of the city – a new centre of attraction open to everyone.
Starting from a participatory process with MzA's stakeholders, the i.e. agency together with Holzer Kobler Architekturen developed the feasibility study. Various measures were defined in terms of topics of interest, operational procedures and construction that will allow the museum to follow new paths regarding accessibility and modernisation. The central points being a new type of "welcoming culture", of encounters and interaction, a contemporary and urban positioning of the museum, at the same time strengthening it as a universal museum with new concepts for exhibitions, newly defined forms of experiences, flexibility with regard to current, important topics, as well as broadly defined manifold opportunities for participation that can be reviewed and redeveloped on a regular basis.
