Metalli Zug

Metalli Zug is a 1994 completed mall that marks the center of the city of Zug. Restaurants, retail, and offices attract approximately 20 000 people every day. A competition aimed at revitalising the city center; amenity values should be increased by providing additional shopping and dining opportunities and by expanding the public space.

The newly created tour on the site offers visitors many more spots to relax by transforming zones that have not been used before. Each exterior space has its own focus: the area in front of the mall receives arrivals; in the back, greenery and a fountain invite to pause. The former delivery ramp and descent to the underground parking has been equipped with a glass-railed extra level, where visitors can take a seat.

The covered areas such as the shopping promenade, the market hall, and the arcades have undergone concerted changes. New functional furniture allows multiple usages of the hall and promenade. Nifty lights and blinds increase the quality of the architectural spaces. Bright LED reels on the ceiling make orientation easy and highlight access paths and passages to Metalli Zug.
