Ready to Share!

The intervention by participants of the studio "Scenic Spaces" of PBSA I HSD in cooperation with #ADA aims at challenging economic growth and private consumption — and at offering alternatives. Will we have to do with less in the future, and how can we free 'less' from connotations such as failure or setback? How can we achieve sufficiency? How can buzz word sharing economy contribute to more fairness in society? And who is provided that what actually "ready to share"?

Final Review 'Curated Studies'

A review followed by a get-together closes the first assignment that has been completed by the participants of the first 'curated studies' at Peter Behrens School of Arts in Dusseldorf in the winter semester 2017/18. A group of professors and their students collaborated with the Internationale Bauausstellung Thuringia working on the relation of the urban and the rural examining the city of Apolda.

Thinking Outside the Box

Philip Norman Peterson was invited as a speaker to a panel addressing the topic of building in existing structures. He will present various projects from recent years along the lines of "Thinking Outside the Box: Concepts for Sites".

Houses of the Year 2018 Wanted

Now or never! Until February 09 , 2018 projects of studios in German-speaking regions completed after 2015 can be submitted at the Houses of the Year competition. The prize is awarded the Callwey publishing house and the Deutsches Architekturmuseum DAM. As winner of last year’s 1st prize with residential building and studio ELLI, Barbara Holzer was invited to join the jury to select this year’s winner.

MakeCity 2018

MakeCity is a city-wide international festival for architecture and urban alternatives, spanning over 17 days and featuring over 120 events: exhibitions, workshops, urban tours and studio talks, along with 9 days of conference programme at the festival centre.

As a founding partner, the Berlin studio will be part of it. The festival takes place from June 14 to July 1, 2018 in different locations in Berlin; a detailed programme is coming soon.

1st Prize in the Competition Old Fishing Port Cuxhaven

The suggested urban development of Cuxhaven’s Old Fishing Port (Alter Fischereihafen), which was designed in collaboration with landscape architect Atelier Loidl, has found critical acclaim: The vision of a new port area has won 1st prize. The competition has produced a further winner.

The goal of the urban design is presenting a frame that can flexibly adjust to future changes, but is also sufficiently clear-cut to ensure a specific development of the port area.
