Barbara Holzer is a member of the jury who will award this year’s DETAIL prize. From April 3rd to 30th, 2018, planners can submit projects realised anywhere in the world for all building types that are characterised by special details within a coherent overall concept.
The Basel section of the SIA (Swiss society of engineers and architects) presents "architecture and geriatric medicine" at their annual event on March 15th, 2018, by exploring the Felix Platter-Hospital project more closely.
Volker Mau, partner at the Zurich studio, will talk about the architecture of the new building. The facade is finished; the hospital’s reopening is scheduled for 2019.

As part of the European Cultural Heritage Year 2018, an interdisciplinary experts’ conference is held at KZ Flossenbürg Memorial along the lines of "Granite and Concentration Camp: Reports — Positions — Perspectives". The conference is organized in collaboration with University of Vienna and Bavarian State Office for the preservation of historical landmarks. Flossenbürg concentration camp has been founded in 1938 — exactly 80 year ago.
The panel "Positions III: Interpretations and Interventions" will be led by Roland Lehnen.
Another KITAG cinedome is opening! In Muri near Berne, the movie theater hosts 10 auditoria, among them an IMAX screen, up-to-date technology, and outstanding design.

The student housing project in Berlin Treptow is developing rapidly. Completion is scheduled for Summer 2018.
