Exhibition Unit 'Enzner' from Galtür

The permanent exhibition at Alpinarium Galtür "At The Very Top —  Stories About Galtür and the World" is expanded by the history of Gentiana Punctata L. in Galtür; occasion of the expansion is the recognition of Galtür's tradition of collecting and processing of spotted gentian as UNESCO cultural heritage. Special topic sections such as "The Plant and the Medicine" and "History and Tradition" shed light on the significance and value of the rare plant. Content and design carry on the current exhibition's style.

From Vision to Building

At paläon, Research and Experience Center Schöningen Spears, this architectural landmark’s making of is displayed. Starting from May 24th, 2018, a special exhibition shows plans, models, and concepts that have been submitted to the competition in 2012.

Opening New Working Worlds

What will work look like in the future? Nobody knows. A new exhibition unit at the DASA in Dortmund explores different fields, past and present scenarios, as well as general trends of economic and societal transformation. However, New Working Worlds wants foremost to illustrate that the future and the future of work is not determined and thus can be shaped in the present.

The new unit of the permanent exhibition opens on May 5th, 2018.

Opening Gender and Violence

Violence and gender have always had a complex and often unsettling relationship. There is a persistence in attributing war with the masculine, peace with the feminine. A special exhibition at Military History Museum examines the phenomenon from unexpected angles and challenges established notions. The exhibition has been designed in collaboration with zweikant architekturen. The main curator Dr. Gorch Pieken has been assisted by the exhibition agency in charge, kursiv | text – objekt – raum. Graphic design has been developed by 2xGoldstein.

Opening KITAG Cinedome Muri

Another KITAG cinedome is opening on April 5h, 2018! In Muri near Berne, the movie theater hosts 10 auditoria, among them an IMAX screen, up-to-date technology, and outstanding design. The project is a collaboration with meierpartner architekten.

Apocalypse — End Without End

The exhibition’s theme may seem far-fetched for a natural history museum. More than a natural phenomena, the idea of Apocalypse is a cultural concept. However, environmental damage has become a real threat today. But doesn’t show history as well that natural and man-made disasters have always fuelled innovation? Scientific and cultural perspectives are interweaved in this show.

The exhibition is shown from November 10, 2017 (planned running time five years).

How does communication work? When does it fail and why? How does it affect relationships of all kinds? The exhibition addresses these questions also on a meta level: How can a museum communicate successfully with its visitors?

The exhibition is shown from October 26, 2017 to September 9, 2018.

A Monastery at the Museum

Large stairs leading up to the new annex set the mood for a secular pilgrimage into the abundant history of Einsiedeln abbey. The abbey’s dimensions, the colors of the baroque church and the rituals related to the famous Black Madonna establish the exhibition’s atmosphere.

Many of the objects on display, mostly gifts of generous pilgrims, are shown for the first time outside of the abbey as part of an impressive mise-en-scène. The presentation of objects such as precious ornaments and textiles reveals the abbey’s significance beyond a religious context.

Opening Exhibition Das Kapital

Karl Marx’s Capital was first published 150 years ago in Hamburg. For the anniversary, the Museum der Arbeit presents a controversial exhibition addressing the book’s historical background and its implications for contemporary society. A sequence of vivid rooms presents the writing, publishing, interpreting, reading and discussion of Capital, a book which has proven a difficult read and provoked widely varied interpretations.

Opening of CoLab

The new CoLab @ EPFL, at Rolex Learning Center in Lausanne, Switzerland, brings together research, development, and presentation to create an inviting and multifunctional space. CoLab’s spatial flexibility allows adjustments to accommodate an array of scenarios. In it’s everyday set-up, students are furnished with a comfortable, round-the-clock lounge. An additional workshop room provides space for private meetings.
