The French painter, graphic artist and sculptor Henri Matisse (1869–1954) has had a lasting influence on the art of the 20th century. In celebration of the 150th anniversary of his birth, the Kunsthalle Mannheim presents "Inspiration Matisse", a special exhibition that opens on the 27th of September 2019.
The scenography reflects Matisse’ innovative mastery of color, form, surface, figure and space through a design that is oriented on his ideas of balance, pureness and tranquility.
