As part of the festival "Theater der Welt (Theater of the World)", a globe installation has been designed and set up on the plaza of the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg in cooperation with the Hafenmuseum (port museum). According to the motto "The World Plays Port", the installation presents a selection of miniature maritime objects such as toy ships, small cranes, and a little lighthouses. They are all set on a globe that diffusely reflects its surroundings. The technoid construction refer back to the large-scale seafare technology in the port, whereas the toys, many of them donated by Hamburg residents, connect the installation to everybody’s childhood memories.
